This past Sunday, PODER (People Organized to Demand Environmental and Economic Rights) hosted MG and Urban Tilth for an in-depth local learning exchange trip in San Francisco.  MG has been cultivating close partnerships with PODER and Urban Tilth over the past year, through a collaboration to explore and build a Resilience-Based Organizing model rooted in the real work PODER and Urban Tilth have been doing on the ground in their communities.
Tere, organizer with PODER, shares about their work.

Last year, our three organizations traveled to the Boston area in Massachusetts to have an exchange with a plethora of amazing organizations.  This coming month, we will conduct our 2nd out-of-state exchange, by travelling to Detroit to learn about the incredible work happening there! And this weekend’s exchange was another type of learning exchange, amongst our own organizations, to learn and grow locally from our own work!

Big thanks to PODER for hosting us, and organizing such an inspiring tour of the community and the solutions-based work you are doing. And a shout-out to Urban Tilth for rolling through and also sharing with us about your work!
Stay tuned for more reports from this year’s trip to Detroit coming soon!
