Food & Justice Storytelling at the Gill Tract

Labor Justice & Food Systems Jobs & Unionization

Wednesday, October 8
6 pm – 8 pm
@ the Gill Tract Farm

San Pablo Ave & Marin Ave, Albany, CA

From poverty, to gentrification, to mass incarceration- food, farming, and land are intricately connected to struggles for justice.

MG will be participating in the first of a series of community conversations designed to center the issues of economic and social justice movements in the context of food. The series will explore how local grassroots organizers and community leaders tackle these issues through their work in food and farming.

On 10/8, highlighting labor justice, Brooke Anderson from MG will be speaking alongside food workers from various campaigns struggling for their rights on the job in the food industry.

They will discuss the state of worker rights within the food industry, how worker exploitation inevitably leads to ecological degradation, and how workers and communities are fighting back to reclaim their relationship to food, land, and labor.

Event is in English and Spanish with interpretation. Please contact us if you will be attending and could offer Mandarin interpretation.
