Earlier this month, Movement Generation spent 5 days on a learning exchange tour in Detroit, with our partners PODER and Urban Tilth! As a cohort, we explored and exchanged ideas, strategies, and stories with grassroots organizations in Detroit, in the common quest to build resilience-based organizing in our communities! We met some incredibly inspiring people and organizations, who are putting love and respect at the center of their work to grow Detroit from the ground-up. We saw how intergenerational community building, reclaiming access to land and resources, and building a connected movement that incorporates culture and love are all driving amazing work there. It was an honor to share the space with our hosts, and to share our own work with them.
