This year’s Mario Savio Memorial Lecture, titled “New Strategies for Confronting the Climate Crisis,” will be a panel discussion featuring MG’s Gopal Dayaneni and other friends & allies in the climate movement:

  • Gopal Dayaneni, Movement Generation
  • May Boeve, 350.org

Plus, the Mario Savio Young Activist Award will be presented to honor the memory of Mario Savio, and the spirit of moral courage and vision which he and countless other activists of his generation exemplified. The award is given to recognize and encourage young activists striving to build a more humane and just society. Since 1998, this award has honored a long list of outstanding community-based activists, including MG Collective Member Ellen Choy and MG Culture Shift Fellow Josh Healey – who were both recognized in 2011. We are excited to be a part of honoring this year’s awardee.
